Scary, I know.

Anyway, I had Summer Freshman Orientation on July 22nd. I found out my class schedule and who my roommates are. I have two, since I am in a triple. I'm taking Calculus 1, Reading Poetry and Fiction, Wind Ensemble, First Year Symposium, and Intermediate Spanish 1. First Year Symposium is a class that all the freshman take. I'm in the Writing Spaces class. I hear there's going to be TONS of writing! >.< Oh well.

I've been taking tons of pictures lately. Now that all my friends and I are not going to see each other everyday like we normally did, it's going to be so weird in college. I decided that I wanted to take more pictures of my friends and I hanging out. I have to put up pictures from my friend, Maura's surprise birthday party for people later, so maybe I'll do a separate post later.

My mom came home from a three week graduate course at Notre Dame. It's weird. I did miss her, but when she came home, I wasn't DYING to see her. I know that sounds cruel, but I probably would not have minded if she stayed another week. My dad was the only adult in my life for those weeks and I hardly ever saw him, b/c by the time he got home, I would be at a friend's house or at work or something. B/c of both of these factors, I decided that I can live without my parents. I know this sounds stupid, but it was a strange realization for me. I never was freaking out without my mom and dad. I think that if I was really homesick, it wouldn't be for my parents, but for my house and my friends. And my own room. That will be missed sorely.

So, my actual thoughts on college? Well, I'm really freaking excited! I can't wait. The only thing I can wait for is all my friends leaving. Ash and Bri leave on the 16th. Elissa leaves sometime before that. ABE. I love these girls soooooooo much and I'm gonna miss them soooooooooo much. I love all my other friends soooooooo much, but they're leaving after me or staying in St. Paul, so it won't be as hard.

I move in the 27th. I really can't wait. All this anticipation is annoying. I hate it. Next week I'm going shopping with my mom for anything I'm going to need in college. That day is gonna be so fun!

In other news, I finished Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince on Saturday (I couldn't put it down). Here are my

So, I completely knew Snape was the Half-Blood Prince. Before I got the book, I had read online that JKR was going to reveal his background, so I kinda assumed he was really important in this book (he was), so why not include him in the title?

I hate to say it, but sometimes this book aggravated me. Where was Seamus? He was only mentioned 2-3 times! And Neville? He didn't have that big of a part. You'd think that since Neville was in the prophecy, he would come into play more. But no, he didn't. I was upset. I love them both! I was annoyed by how much JKR smothered Dumbledore in my face to the point where I was really hoping he would always be around. Like a grandpa. So, I was SEVERELY disappointed when it turned out that he was the one to die. *sobs* I miss Dumbledore!!

One thing I am EXCEPTIONALLY glad about, though, is that Harry wasn't a prick in this book. That was a MAJOR relief. Even though he seemed kinda blah in this book, it's still much, much better than moody and horrible to everyone.

What was with all the love stuff going on? HAHHAHAHA! I guess that's how it is in real life, though. Around that age, that's all you can think about. I thinnk I would know. I was extremely happy when Ron "broke it off" with Lavender. Or did she do the breaking off? I think she did. All these years, I have been rooting for Hermione and Ron to get together. They're perfect for each other. (You can all barf now.)
It seemed like this book centered around two things: Love and Harry finding out as much as he could about Voldemort with the help of Dumbledore. I was both annoyed and happy the book went this way. After I was done reading it, somehow it felt incomplete. Mayve that was due to the fact that JKR didn't have the book end in the way it normally does with them all seeing each other off at the station with promises of Harry staying at the Weasley's house. I think this was disappointing, but maybe necessary since their next year will not be the same.

I didn't see any of the whole "what is right is not always easy and what is easy is not always right". I heard that was going to be very important in the last two books. Maybe the whole thing with Ginny at the end was something. I don't know, though.

NO MORE SCHOOL?! I'm sad. That was why I read Harry Potter. Not b/c of the whole good vs evil thing (I can get that anywhere), but b/c of the whole magic school thing! I loved that aspect of it. That's why I didn't like the movies as much. Not as much mystical magicalness.

One more thing that bothered me:
Was it just me or were there a lot more grammatical errors in this book than any of her other ones? Sometimes, it was to the point where I couldn't understand the sentence or I'd have to read it a few times to understand it. Maybe that was just the character's way of talking. I don't know. I think soon I'm going to comb the book, looking for errors. Since, you know, I have absolutely no life. Hey, what are you gonna do? Besides go out and get one.

So, hi. I haven't updated on my life in a really long time. Like, I just do this journal to do media stuff, which is cool, but I think I might try using it as a journal for once.

In May:
25th: I graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall high school.
25th: The Senior Lock-In. I stayed up til about 5 AM on the 26th. It was fun. There was a hypnotist, which was the best part. There was also a raffle and I didn't win ANYTHING. I had my heart set on winning the 1st and 2nd seasons of Family Guy on DVD.
Later on: I went to a lot of parties. Free food! w00t. And cool people. w00t x 2.

So, now it's June. I've been working so much lately. Which is a mixture of good and bad. I get paychecks, which is good. But I have less free time. I've also been hanging out a lot with friends after work and on the weekends. (I just remembered something else that is good: SUPERMAN!!!!! He's this gorgeous hunk of man, that has a Superman tattoo on his upper calf. He gorgeous and talks to the guards sometimes.) These are some things I have become obsessed with since I've REALLY updated:
1.) Red versus Blue
- So RvB is my new lover. I swear. It's the most hilarious, complex, thing ever created. If you're confused, that's too bad, b/c I'm really lazy and I don't want to type out the whole explanation, but it's basically a movie inside the video game, Halo. It's freakin' hilarious. I suggest everyone out there (besides Ash and Elissa) check it out!
2.) New York City
- I just went to NYC for four days with my aunt, grandma, and cousin. It. Was. One. Of. The. Best. Experiences. Of. My. Life. I mean it. I did everything you should do in New York. We took a bike tour of Southern Central Park. We went to Wall Street. We saw the Statue of Liberty. We went shopping on Canal Street (near Chinatown: it's this long street of Chinese shops selling watches and shoes for $3 and stuff like that) where we followed these two little Chinese dudes to a shady little "eye care facility" in Chinatown. She got a "Louis Vuitton" purse. It was the shadiest thing I have ever done. I got a Prada lookalike. It didn't look too much like it, though, so it only cost me $18. We also saw the site of the former World Trade Centers. It's crazy, cause at this exact moment, I'm watching Air Force One, and it's really freaking me out. I don't know why I don't stop watching it, but I can't, pretty much. I need to know what happens. (If anyone doesn't know, Air Force One is about Russian terrorists taking over . . . Air Force One.) GAH. Anyway, we also saw TWO Broadway plays: The Phantom of the Opera and Hairspray. They were amazing!!!!! And yes, Phantom is MUCH better live!
3.) water
- Okay, so I know this sounds stupid, but I've really been obsessed lately. Like, I always have to have my Nalgene at work with me. This morning, I worked from 8:30 - 12:30 and I didn't have my Nalgene, and I was SOOO depressed. OK, not really, but you know what I mean.
4.) Gorillaz
- If anybody doesn't know about this band, GO FIND OUT. They are amazing. It's an animated band. Here is their picture:
It goes, Russel (the tough-guy drummer), 2-D (the pretty-boy singer), Noodle (the 10 year old Japanese guitarist), and Murdoc (the sleezy bass player). They have this really awesomely strange sound going on. Like, it's experimental and techno, and . . . strange all at once. You have to hear it to know what I'm talking about. Their single is Feel Good Inc. and I am completely in love. Just one of the many things I'm obsessed with.
5.) My friends
- The thing I'm most obsessed with. Lately, I've just been really appreaciated my friends. We're all going awaya to different colleges next year, so we're all spending as much together as possible it seems like. Like when I hang with the Fab 4, we just hang around and talk about/watch RvB and go to Noodles. When I hang out with Kelly and Michael, we watch stupid movies and go shopping somewhere. When I'm with Katie, we go to the MOA or watch Star Wars or play Sims. Maura and I always go out to movies. Karen, Lee, Eric and I do anything. Like last night was Eric's grad party and after everyone left, we went outside and played Ultimate Frisbee for two hours, went to Eric's uncle's pool, and swam (cuz his uncle was gone), and then we had a bonfire. It was great. I'm really gonna miss all my friends next year!! ;_; =(

So that's what my summer has been so far. A lotta work, but a lotta play. I can't wait until my 18th birthday, which is on the 18th. I'm hoping to do something really exciting, since it's my golden b-day.

Wow. Air Force One just ended and I'm really sad. I started crying when the one guy took the bullet for the president and then when the mom was taken hostage. Man. That movie was really intense.

So, what we did:
First the girls went over to Ali's house and got their hair done and got ready. Then the boys came and it took us a grand total of thirty minutes to actually leave, since Scott and Ali both weren't dressed, yet. They were "pimping out" the car. When they were finally ready, we went to the Grand March, so Ali and Scott and Katie and Sam could "walk down the aisle". At this point of the night, I was exceptionally happy to not have a date. Once the Grand March was over, we went to Katie's house, where we had dinner. It was chicken fettucini and it was so good!! YUM. So, after that we left for the dance where we danced and had a LOT of fun. The car we went in was a big SUV (I don't know what kind) which had purple blinking lights strung around the inside. We converted the trunk into seats for Maura and Karen by stuffing it with pillows and blankets. After the dance, we went to Sam's house. He leaves in this HUMONGUS house out in the suburbs so, it was awesome. So, we were all pretty hyper for a while and we were doing weird stuff. I wish I could have scanned ALL my pictures, but that would be A LOT. Anyway, so after a while, we got tired and decided to watch Mean Girls. This was at about 2:30 am. I fell asleep during the movie, but then, once it was over, I woke up and everyone was kinda falling asleep. We decided we should go to sleep, then. We all slept in the same room. It had a HUGE screen TV (I swear it was taller than me) and leather couch. So, me and Maura slept on the couch. Ali and Scott slept on the air-mattress, Sam and his friends Vince and Trisha (who both came over later) slept on one side of the couch and Katie and Karen slept on the other. It was packed in that room. We all ended up going to sleep at about 4:30. It was a fun night.

Hey everyone. I made a new layout b/c I was really bored of the old one. I think I'm gonna be changing the layout every couple days, just to keep things interesting. Not the way the journals are, but the pics in the background.

Hi, my name is Emily and I'm obsessed with the KAISER CHIEFS. I absolutely LOVE them. I just got their CD, Employment, on Sunday, and I've been listening to it non-stop. Wow. I love them. To death. And it's so maddening b/c I found out that they were on the OC on Thursday and I'm really mad b/c I love KC, but not so much the OC anymore. I wish I could have found my love of the KC BEFORE they were on the OC, so I could watch it and enjoy it for once. Anywho . . . I'm also kinda upset b/c I found out they're touring this spring and they're coming to First Ave on June 1st, but you know what?????? IT'S AN 18+ show and I won't be 18 until JULY!!!!!! I was sooooo mad!!!!! I can't go to the Kaiser Chiefs concert b/c my birthday is a month and a half after they come. Damn it. And the tickets were only $11, too!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone! I know I haven't updated forever. I have had a lot of not fun stuff happening lately. Most of which has to do with prom. But it's ironic, b/c I'm still really excited about it! I mean, who care if I don't have a date, right? I'm not the only one in my group who doesn't have a date, so I think I'll live. People coming: Katie and Sam, Ali and Scott, Me, Maura, Karen, and maybe Elissa and Vitality (pronounced VITALY). I hope Elissa does come!! OH MY GOD.

One word: LOST. Holy shiz-nizzle. Tonight's episode unbelievable!

Claire had her baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A baby boy!! And when Jin held his hand out to Charlie for him to shake, and Charlie gave him an enthusiastic hug . . . ADORABLE. I like Jin so much better now after this episode, where he was forgetting his honor and actually talking to Sun since Claire's baby was coming.
Jack gave Boone blood. Which made me go, "AHHH! I just gave blood on Friday!" I'm surprised Jack wasn't more woozy. After I gave, I was kinda wobbly. And Kate delivering the baby! O>O I'm surprised Jack wasn't all "Kate, you pulled it off. I'm so proud of you," at the end. I'm surprised and happy. That would have been mushy.
BOONE DIED. I'm so sad. I cried for like 5 minutes. And when Shannon started crying! That was so sad. It was ironic while Boone was lying dead in the caves, Claire's baby was . . . alive on the beach. If I were a Buddhist, I'd say that Boone was re-incarnated in Claire's baby. I wonder what she'll name him. The baby, I mean.
And the end of the episode . . . O>O? WOW. "He didn't die. He was murdered." DUN DUN DUN!
I'm so sad that next week is the season finale!!!!!!!!!!! But a 2 hour one should be excellent. I really hope the announcer guy at the end was right with all the "All your questions will be answered," because I have a lot of questions. But if they aren't gonna answer them all, then that would be okay because there's always next season! WHAT WILL I DO DURING THE SUMMER WITH NO LOST???????? They had better show re-runs! /=?

I went shopping today at the MOA. It was fun. I went with Kelly, Meghan, and Michael. My purchases included Finding Nemo, eyeliner, and a My Chemical Romance t-shirt from Hot Topic (my FAV'rite store evah. Yeah. Tha's right, tha's right . . .).

I'm really bored right now, waiting for SNL to start, so I decided to update. DOOOT DOOOT DOOOT. (That was me singing.)

Yesterday, I took my double exposure shots for photography. I think I fucked them up. Oh well.

At my grandma's today, I obssessed over my 7 month old cousin, Alex. She is the cutest thing I have ever seen. You know how sometimes babies are really hideous, and you say, "oh cute!" anyways. Well, she actually is extremely adorable! She has these piercing blue eyes that are just gorgeous.

Speaking of piercing blue eyes, I realized today that I have been encountering Elijah Wood a lot lately. It's strange. Like, I'm dying to go Sin City. Not b/c he's in it or anything, but he is in it which is an added plus. But seriously, I think I'm gonna go try and see it at midnight on friday. And also, I started this book today called, Everything Is Illuminated and it turns out that there's a movie that he's in that based off this book, which is REALLY good so far. And also, he's in Hooligans, which is looking to be great. I'm just ELIJAH WOODED out right now!! Not really, though. ELIJAH = <3

Yesterday was so fun. I hung out with Kelly and Michael and we went to school while there was no school and went in the biology labs and drew all over the boards. It was really cool. After that we went in a ride in Kelly's convertible . . . with the top down . . . in 45 degree weather. At first I wasn't cold, but then I was after driving around for awhile. Michael didn't have a sweatshirt or anything! I couldn't believe him. So we didn't have the top down and people were staring at us. It was really funny.

After our riding around for awhile, they came over to my house and we watched this movie all about puberty called "Teen Dreams". It was so funny! We had gotten it from the bio lab. (Don't worry. We're bringing it back.) Then we watched Napoleon and went to dinner at Old Chicago. I had a Chicken Parmesan sandwich and a shirley temple. It was really good.

This Spring Break is gonna be REALLY boring. I can already tell. I'm gonna be sitting at my computer all week! It's starting.

I've really been missing Suryn and Seattle. Which is weird cause it was August when I went there and so much has happened since then, but I really miss her all the same. I miss the scenery, her house, her, the mountains, the beach, I even miss my ears popping every 2 seconds . . . okay, so I don't miss that, but I still do!!

I'm kinda pissed, b/c last night was Taste of Chaos and i couldn't go b/c I didn't get tickets. I am mad at myself for that . . .

I just watched HP - POA today, b/c there was nothing else to do of course. While watching it, I realized that the acting is not that great (over-acting) and there's a lot of missing info and a lot of new info. Not just from the book, but a lot of stuff doesn't line up. Like they never explain how Lupin knew how to work the map, and Harry never quesitons it. And also, how they changed EVERYTHING. Like, nothing is in the same place. Hagrid's hut is in the middle of nowhere, there are these new places that suddenly have so much importance (the clock thing, that courtyard, the bridge . . . and was Lupin's office the set of Dumbledore's office from the 1st 2 movies? I thought so.) And also how they're introducing all these new kids who aren't in the books. Like the one kid who explains what the Grim is (and then talks about how Black is as hard to catch as "catching smoke with hands . . . bare hands") and the other kid that takes Goyle's place. Where's Goyle? He's there at the beginning, but then never shown again. Maybe he got taken away by the Giant Squid. We'll never know. And also the shrunken heads? WEIRD. In my opinion, they should have tied everything together and kept out those characters who have no importance if they were worried about time or something . . . Another thing that bugs me: how Hermione could call the werewolf. Is JKR gonna make her a WEREWOLF in a later book? I don't like how the movies are placing importance on the books, instead of the other way around! Like, the whole Ron/Hermione thing. Sure, that's cool. Have that happen, but don't precede the book in telling us what's gonna happen with them by placing hints. That's just annoying. And don't think I didn't know about all this stuff from before, but right now, I am in a really mad mood and I needed to rant about it, since it's important to me.

Whenever a fault of the movie presented itself, I thought, if Peter Jackson were directing this movie, he would NEVER have let that happen. Or that would be explained to the audience better if PJ were directing this movie! Oh my . . . LOTR had gone to my head a little TOO much.

I think this movie was better off for teenagers (myself), and at first I REALLY loved it, but now I'm kind of skeptical about it. Cauron is a good film-maker, but right now I'm doubing that. And Steven Kloves writing the screenplay. Didn't he write the first two movie's screenplays? Yes. And they are MUCH closer to the books than this one. It must be Cuaron. I'm not a fan of the 1st 2 movies, b/c they are really "kiddish", but right now, I'm apt to prefer them to POA. I am sure that if I were not a die-hard fan of the books, that I would just adore this movie, but seeing that I was and still am an HP afficionado, it cannot be any other way, than to love the books much more than the movies and be offended when the movies fall astray of the books main points and not so main points. Sometimes I envy Harry Potter's ignorant fans who have never read the books and refuse to, thinking that the movies are all there is.

NOTE: I KNOW JKR IS HAPPY WITH THE MOVIES, SO I SHOULD BE, TOO, BUT I CAN HAVE MY OWN OPINIONS, TOO, SO IF YOU ARE EXTREMELY OFFENDED BY THIS, I'M NOT REALLY SORRY, B/C THIS IS MY JOURNAL AND I HAVE MY OPINIONS AND YOU DO, TOO.

For the past couple of days I've been working on a DOMINIC MONAGHAN mood set (138 moods, 138 DIFFERENT pictures!!!! (very hard to do, by the way)) for LJ or whatever else.
